Heathers: The Musical at Fed's Backyard Theater

Heathers: The Musical will play a sold-out run at Fed’s Backyard Theater beginning August 2, 2024 through August 4, 2024!

Based on the cult classic film by Daniel Waters, the smash-hit musical tells the story of Veronica Sawyer, a high schooler who joins the school's most popular clique, the Heathers, in order to fit in. However, Veronica becomes uncomfortable with the Heathers' cruelty and falls for a new, mysterious student named JD. When Veronica is kicked out of the group, she plots revenge with JD's help, but things go wrong and the plan has disastrous consequences for the entire school. 

 Starring as Veronica and J.D. are Alexandria Paxton and Gabriel Cortes. Additional casting includes: Aurora Newcomb, Novella Rose Marshall, Kennedy Lollar, Ariel Proctor, Alex Rodriguez, Michael Sandwall, Robert Heath, Kamden Bailey, Chloe Johnson, Gina Rose Masarik, Jackson Carney, Lumine DeVries, Chase Underwood, and Bailey Letner. 

The production is directed and choreographed by Federico Hradek. Additional production credits include: Maddie Holdway as assistant director, LouAnn McCord as assistant choreographer, Morgan Takács as stage manager, Novella Rose Marshall as music director, Jackson Carney as costume designer, and Ethan Furhmeister as lighting designer. The production will feature marketing and advertisements by Adam Lucas and scenic design by Zoey Zagst and Jim Crawford. Lead producers include: Federico Hradek, Debby Hradek, Dalibor Hradek, and Adam Lucas. Book, music, and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Kevin Murphy. Fed’s Backyard Theater is a former garage converted into a 56 seat black box theater by local Bradenton resident Federico Hradek. Hradek’s goal in building the theater was to direct and produce full-length musicals, stage plays, improv shows, and much more. In March of 2023, the theater hosted their inaugural production of Ride the Cyclone: The Musical, and has since amassed over 100,000 views on TikTok. Heathers will be the seventh production to play Fed’s Backyard Theater.
