–Ruth Page School of Dances holds auditions for the Ruth Page Civic Ballet’s annual production of “The Nutcracker” Sunday, August 25. The auditions begin at 10 a.m. for boys and girls ages 7 – 13 and 12:30 p.m. for young men and women ages 14 and up at the Ruth Page Center for the Performing Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn St. Roles being cast include: Soldiers, Bonbons, Party Children, Corps de Ballet, Demi Solos, among others. This year marks the 10th season the Civic Ballet will perform “The Nutcracker” and it is the first being co-directed by the newly named Director of the Ruth Page School of Dance, Victor Alexander. “The Nutcracker” by the Ruth Page Civic Ballet will be performed December 7 at 7 p.m. and December 8 at 1 and 5 p.m. at Northeastern Illinois University, 5500 N.
