Characters: • Charity Hope Valentine, the girl who wanted to be loved (25-36) • Oscar Lindquist, a man whom Charity befriends and eventually falls in love with (30-45) • Charlie, Charity's boyfriend in the opening of the show, and the name on her tattoo (30s) • Nickie and Helene, Charity's closest friends (20-40s) • Herman, the authoritarian owner of the Fandango Ballroom; Charity's boss (40-55) • Vittorio Vidal, a famous Italian movie star (40-55) • Ursula March, Vittorio's girlfriend (20s) • Daddy Johann Sebastian Brubeck, the enigmatic leader of the Rhythm of Life Church (30-45) • Suzanne, Frenchie, Betsy, and Elaine,Carmen and Rosie - dancers at the Fandango Ballroom (20-40) Actors should come prepared with a song that best showcases their range and acting ability.
