Side By Side By Sondheim at the CLO Cabaret at Theater Square, directed and choreographed by Richard Sabellico. Principals must be available May 6 – August 18, 2013.

Who

NARRATOR
45 and upwards. Male or Female. Actor who sings. Baritone or Alto. Elegant, educated, clever and very articulate. The liaison between the audience and the material.

FEMALE 1

40/50. Strong Alto with soprano abilities. The personification of class. Clipped speech, crafty mind.

She’s the more sophisticated of the two ladies with a sardonic sense of humor and a sly delivery.

FEMALE 2

30/40. High Belt with Strong Soprano. Attractive and impetuous with a strong sense of humor. She is a bit more blatant than her counterpart as well as a bit more crass. Her charm is her greatest attribute.

MALE

30/50. Strong High Baritone. Handsome, dashing and sexually ambiguous. Bright, quick and witty. A bit of a narcissist with a healthy dose of charm. He does have vitality and an endearing sense of entitlement.

Requirements

• · Auditioners should prepare two songs of their best material in the style of the show, but the songs do not need to be Sondheim. Bring legible sheet music in the correct key.
