New York City Gay Men's Chorus seeks singing and non-singing members The New York City Gay Men’s Chorus will hold auditions August 29th and Sept 4th & 5th 2012 from 7-10 PM for our 2012-13 season.
Auditions are by appointment only and may be scheduled by emailing auditions@nycgmc.org before August 27th
We are looking for a passion for singing, musicality, a good voice, movement skills, openness, teamwork, and a positive attitude, some level of reading skill and/or a good musical memory and a commitment to our mission - essentially fighting homophobia through song. Whatever your skills, all we ask is that you embrace singing in all styles. We guarantee you’ll find people in the Chorus who share your interests and voices in the Chorus with whom you can blend. Even if you're not a singer, there's still a place for you! Our Support Section consists of our non-singing members who conduct important "behind the scenes" work to make our group successful. Members of this section attend weekly rehearsals and help out back stage and front of house at concerts; others may help on an ad hoc basis with special administrative projects (such as marketing, graphic design, or office support) at concerts or at our annual fundraising gala. No audition is necessary for this section but a background in theater, event production or nonprofit administration is helpful. Please e-mail us if you are interested, and someone from our team will be in touch with you.
