MOON OVER BUFFALO
All actors must have excellent comic timing.
George Hay –40s – fifties, a traveling actor, flamboyant, must have excellent comic timing and able to deliver a highly physical performance.
Charlotte Hay – 40s – early 50s, George's wife and actress in his company. Attractive, talented, a “star” – on and off stage. Adept at physical comedy.
Rosalind Hay – mid 20s – early 30s, George & Charlotte's daughter, who left the stage to lead a "normal" life. Bright and attractive. Adept at physical comedy.
Howard- late 20s – early 30s, a TV weatherman and Rosalind's fiancé, good-looking, a bit staid, intimidated by this theatrical family, Adept at physical comedy.
Paul – 30s, stage manager for George's company, and Rosalind's ex-fiancé. Good-looking in a rough-and-ready sort of way, extremely likeable, adept with physical comedy
Ethel Hay– 70s, Charlotte's nearly-deaf mother, an accomplished actress in her day who spends her time repairing the troupe’s costumes and putting down her son-in-law.
Richard Maynard – 50s, a very successful lawyer, in love with Charlotte
Eileen – 20s, an actress in George's company who was George's "one-night-stand." Extremely emotional.
TWILIGHT OF THE GOLDS
David Gold – late 20s, charming, sensitive, gay aspiring set designer. A fervent Wagner fan.
Suzanne Gold-Stein, early 30s, his sister. Bright, attractive. Feels as if she’s never lived up to her potential. Works as a buyer for Bloomingdale’s.
Rob Stein – early 30s, Suzanne’s husband. A genetic researcher. A handsome, decent fellow who still feels like an outsider in his wife’s family.
Phyllis Gold – 50s, David and Suzanne’s mother. An elegant woman, smarter than she sometimes lets on. Perpetually worried about her children.
Walter Gold – 50s, David and Suzanne’s father. A sometimes gruff New York businessman. Far more sensitive than he often appears.
