Written & Directed by: Martin Barbary
The third of the successful ‘Lovin’ That …..’ plays, this show continues on with the proven popular formula, but not the storyline, of the previous two productions.
It is an outright musical comedy, with more than 20 well known 60’s/70’s /80’s songs providing a feel good backing to a story that explores greed, lust, romance and other human emotions.
In this show, the aging but very rich Lord and Lady Snoglittle engage the well traveled, and possibly honest, Indiana Smith, to find them the last remainders of a youth serum from the South American Jungles, and insist some family members tag along to look after their best interests. But who’s best interests are they really looking after, and did the butler really do what everyone thinks he is not doing?
This musical spoof is a technically complex show, with lots of effects, costumes, lighting and sound, plus live music.
As with all musicals, it will require the cast to be focused at rehearsals, as there will be a lot to get through, but we can guarantee that rehearsals will still be both fun and satisfying.
All actors will be required to be able to sing and dance, although there are a number of dancer roles, both male and female, that will only require minimal singing.
Everyone auditioning will be required to read, sing and work through a short group dance routine on the night. Feel free to bring a CD/USB of a song without vocals as backing if you prefer.
Rehearsals will be based around Acting on Tuesday nights, and musical numbers on Sunday nights. Dancers and some singers will only be required on Sunday nights, except in the last two weeks.
Rehearsals will commence in mid January 2014.
Rehearsals and performances will be at the Blackwood Memorial Hall.
