Sixteen year-old Raymond wants answers, and he’s willing to bring Ms. Kelly’s biology class to a screeching halt in the process. With patience and applied knowledge, Ms. Kelly begins to lay the groundwork for dialog and understanding. But Ray’s mom intervenes as a formidable opponent, suggesting that science and fact may simply not be enough to outweigh personal belief. Massicotte writes an eloquent argument on behalf of reasoning, and reasonable people everywhere.
