SEEKING
Equity chorus dancers (Female characters) for BEAUTIFUL: THE CAROLE KING MUSICAL (See breakdown). Actors of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, body types, ages, as well as performers with disabilities are encouraged to audition.
PREPARATION
Please be prepared to dance. Jazz shoes or dance sneakers. Bring your headshot and resume stapled together and your book of music in case you are asked to stay and sing. An accompanist will be provided.

SEEKING:
A multi-talented ensemble who will portray members of Carole’s inner circle and famous musical groups that Carole, Gerry, Cynthia, and Barry wrote for.
Roles:
- Janelle Woods/Shirelle/Ensemble – Female Presenting Character, Age: 20-40, Voice Part: Alto, Black. A pop singer, notably performing the hit “One Fine Day.” Will double in ensemble roles.
- Little Eva/Shirelle/Ensemble – Female Presenting, Age: 18-30, Voice Part: Alto w/High Extension, Black. A pop singer who begins working as a babysitter/nanny for Carole's daughter. Has charm, charisma and strong movement & vocal ability. Will double in ensemble role.
- Lucille/Shirelle/Ensemble – Female Presenting, Age: 20-40, Voice Part: Alto w/High Extension, Any Non-White Ethnicity. Donnie’s secretary. Mostly spoken role. Will double in ensemble roles throughout the show and will include dancing in ensemble.
- “Uptown” Soloist/Shirelle/Ensemble – Female, Age: 20-40, Voice Part: Alto w/High Extension, Black. Non-speaking role. Movement will be required.
- Marilyn Wald/Ensemble – Female Presenting, Age: 20-40, Voice Part: Alto, White. A pop singer, notably performing “Pleasant Valley Sunday.” Will double in ensemble roles throughout the show and will include dancing in ensemble numbers.
- Betty/Ensemble – Female Presenting, Age: 20-40, Voice Part: Alto, Any ethnicity. Carole’s childhood best friend and confidant. Mostly spoken role. Will double in ensemble roles throughout the show and will include movement in ensemble numbers.
- Neil Sedaka/Lou Adler/Righteous Brother/Ensemble – Male Presenting, Age: 35-60, Voice Part: Bari-Tenor, White. Non-dancing role but will require singing and some movement in ensemble.
- Nick/Righteous Brother/Ensemble – Male Presenting, Age: 20-40, Voice Part: Bari-Tenor, White. New York based session musician. There’s a connection with Carole, but she is wary of getting involved. Non-dancing role - singing and some movement in ensemble numbers.
- Bobby Vee/Ensemble – Male Present Character, Age 20-40, Voice Part: Tenor, White. An American singer who was a teen idol in the early 1960s and appeared in films. Will require some movement.
- The Drifters/Ensemble – Male Presenting, Ages: 20-40, Black. All Voice Parts: Including 2 strong tenors, Black. The Drifters are a 4-piece all male group (i.e The Temptations/Commodores). Strong ability to blend/harmonize tightly and strong movement required. Will double in ensemble roles.
- Shirelle/Ensemble – Female Presenting Character, Age: 20-40, Voice Part: Alto w/High Extension, Black. Mostly spoken role. Will double in ensemble roles throughout the show and will include dancing in ensemble numbers.
