Ragtime is a musical adaptation of E.L. Doctorow's novel, with a book by Terrence McNally, music by Stephen Flaherty, and lyrics by Lynn Ahrens. Directed by Christopher Betts and choreographed by Sara Edwards, the production intertwines the narratives of three families in turn-of-the-century America, exploring themes of wealth, prejudice, and the pursuit of the American Dream. Through a rich score that combines ragtime, blues, and jazz, the show highlights the struggles and triumphs of its characters against a backdrop of historical events. The production runs from April 25 to June 15 at Goodspeed Musicals.
