You won’t want to miss this cornucopia of “mouth-watering” Baroque treats, including two era-defining works that continue to challenge performers and amaze audiences, and are considered hallmarks of Western Classical music. Bach Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major is an exhilarating and swoon-worthy tune. In addition to the powerful fanfares in the trumpets, this suite is beloved for the famous slow movement, nicknamed “Air on a G String.” The concert also includes Bach Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F major for natural trumpet, oboe, violin, strings, and harpsichord. The trumpet part is considered the most difficult in the entire repertoire. Bach in Baltimore’s orchestra is comprised of some of the finest early music musicians in our region, and many of whom perform with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra. Enjoy the best and brightest at this bountiful concert of Baroque treasures that also includes works by Telemann and Handel.
Grace United Methodist Church is at 5407 Charles Street , Baltimore , MD.
