Ancient versus modern. Reptile versus mammal. The ultimate culture clash between two tribes and a fantastical race to decide the fate of them all. Written by the talented Allen Robertson and Damon Brown, with modern music and energetic re-imagining of the ancient fable that will delight tortoises and hares of all ages!
“I was intrigued by the idea of examining two different cultures,” says Robertson, who wrote the music and lyrics for Tortoise and Hare. “In this version, the tortoises have become an ancient tribal culture that values education and community, while the hares have become an image-obsessed youth culture. Ultimately, the play is about an unlikely friendship between two characters and the differences that bring them together.”
